Which suits best for my room?
For a room of 10*10 (approx 100 to 120 SFT size) or less -- 1 Ton will be sufficient
And for a room of size 110 to 180 SFT, 1.5 ton is required.
Another important point over here is; if you are looking for just bed-room use, go for 3-start. That would be enough. 5-star is recommended for ATM like stores where A/C has to be ON continually. 

Best Brands based on their quality in Split A/C products?
1st Quality (Premium): Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Daikin
2nd quality: Carrier, O-General, Voltas, BlueStar, Lloyd 
3rd grade: LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Onida (These vendors will just assemble parts from different companies and put their brand label and marketing. So, not the best when it comes to quality A/C products from these companies)

*Again, this is not to promote or degrade any single brand. BTW, I dont have shares in any of those companies :-)

What was my decision finally?
After evaluating all the parameters like (i) Power Saving options, (ii) Best Service in Hyd especially, (iii) Top Quality in quick cooling, (iv) Maintenance, (v) Features being offered in each brand/model,...etc, we finally went for Hitachi 1.5 Ton - Kaze model. It has got all the features like Personalization/MyMode, Auto, Cool, Super Cool, Humidity, AreaCodeTechnology, Asynchronous & Parallel air flow, Silent mode, Quick Cooling...etc. And we're loving it.

Considering all the available models (as on May-2012) and based on the little research that went on, I can suggest following phones in "SmartPhone" segment...

BTW, I have taken Atrix2 as this 'M'atrix-2 has got superb features (like 8MP Camera with 1080P HD, ~3000/- worth EA games for FREE, Great apps like 'TED' on big 4.3 fast touch-screen, DualCore processor with 1GB RAM) and the best part is, I got it @ 21,900/- in Hyderabad.

Experiences on my Interior/Carpentry work

We have recently moved into own house (...err... le'me correct it, partially owned house, LICHFL has good stake in it), so I thought of sharing my experience with you related to interior work.

Through one of my friends, I got to know about one Bihari Carpenter, Goutham. Before decided on him, I have visited few of his sites and we liked his work. Moreover few friends had told me to look for a Rajasthani/Bihari carpenter, they are supposed good in this business.

My Bihari C' did a rough estimate of plywood (and other items that are needed in the initial phase) and asked us to buy about 80% of  the goods. You can buy from any place of your choice, I bought it directly from GreenPly AreaSalesManager-Suresh (9000991123). Suresh gave me the best deal which no retail merchant can offer. And the best part is, he arranged the transport directly to my site either. 

My place allowed over night stay for interior workers, so the pace was bit faster as it saves travel time and they are able to things till late evening.

Mine is a 2 BHK house, we had interior work in 2 Bed rooms and 2 separate units in Hall. In addition to this, we also got two queen size beds by carpenter. Teak wood required for beds was purchased from a Timber Depot in Miyapur. My carpenter took ~30days to complete his work. But looking at others around who have done their interior, I felt this was a good turnaround time.

For Kitchen, we bought Modular Kitchen from Reliance Living (after doing lot of research on ModularKitchens at LussoItalia, HomeCenter, HomeTown, Evok...etc). Sales Manager (Rajender - 8008404215) at Reliance Living was so patient with us and spent almost 2 days to finalize one design that would best fit our kitchen measurements.

Now coming to selection of other components, decolams and veneers are most confusing things to choose. They decide how the interior is going to look. There is a lot of difference between what you see in the catalogs and how it comes up finally. I spent some good time on deciding these before finalizing Greenlam & Merino laminates. 

Same is true for other things, like handles, legs etc, but they can be replaced easily where as decolams, veneers will be tough/expensive to replace. Veneers are costly and the polish cost is high too, but it does give a good finish to your interior.

When you opt for a Carpenter to do your interiors, you may not get a good finish as you would get if you opt for a interior guy who would get some stuff  done in factory. But the good part is  that you will know what material is going in. You also will be able to change things as and when you want. Those who are married would know ladies will not like something for sure and        would ask to get it altered.

A good carpenter can get you a really good finish. Make sure you get a good polish guy, that matters a lot. Veneers can look terrible if not polished properly.

Finishing part, i.e picking up decolam, veneer, legs, handles, glasses is really painful and important, so do some research around that beforehand. I picked ebco & Hettich hardware and bought it from Goshamahal (near Nampally). It was suggested by my carpenter. 

Coming to carpenter, me and my friend had good experience with Goutham Carpenter. Only problem is...you have to suggest best design for him to proceed. He has a good pool of people who work for him, most of them Rajasthani and experienced workers. They work on all days except Amavasya or New moon day.
